Ms. Sheri Collins, PA Department of Community & Economic Development Deputy Secretary, Office of Technology and Innovation, and Ms. Sue Suleski, PA-DCED Director of Strategic Initiatives attended the May meeting of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Partnerships for Regional Economic Performance (PREP). In their remarks, Deputy Secretary Collins and Ms. Suleski focused on the Commonwealth’s Office of Economic Adjustment/ Defense Transition Initiative activities and programs. They stressed the importance of the NEPA PREP Partners in advancing the objective of this Program in this region.
Deputy Secretary Collins also spoke on the ARC POWER Initiative Program and the community economic development opportunities presented by this Program. POWER funds will support communities and regions that have been affected by job losses in coal-mining, coal power plant operations and coal related supply chain industries due to the changing economics of energy production.
