Executive Message from the Board
Chairman and President & CEO
As one of seven Local Development Districts (LDDs), federally designated by the Appalachian Regional Commission, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance (NEPA) helps ensure the success of businesses, local governments, nonprofit and economic development organizations in Northeastern Pennsylvania that play a critical role in the economy of our region. For over 40 years, LDDs have been at the forefront, implementing economic and community development initiatives while coordinating and delivering services on behalf of the Commonwealth and each LDD’s respective counties. As the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance celebrates its 45th year, the 2008-2009 Annual Report highlights the efforts of our professional staff and numerous volunteers that work together through NEPA to support jobs and community improvements throughout our seven county region. A few examples of the results of these efforts during the July 1, 2008-June 30, 2009 fiscal year include supporting:

These partnerships help ensure that the resources committed to improving our region and communities are used efficiently and effectively. You will see that our staff and Board of Directors are committed to adding new programs and services, improving the quality of those programs and services and NEPA’s value to the region.
